Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary since the Tubbs Fire destroyed our house and everything in it. It seems hard to believe it’s been a whole year since that terrible catastrophe, and yet it also feels like it was 100 years ago. Rebuilding the house is a process that, however slowly at times, moves forward. Progress is tangible as the house starts to rise from the ground. Once you can walk up and down the stairs and in and out of every room, you know your house is coming back! Our emotional mood and outlook has improved as each week passes and we get nearer to the completion of the rebuild. Now we are closer to the end of the project timeline, and we feel a renewed sense of energy and optimism.
After passing both our final rough-in and Cal-Green inspections last week, we were able to being the insulation installation. The crew from Alcal Roofing and Insulation is making quick work of stuffing the walls and ceilings with what looks like cotton candy! They expect to be done today or early tomorrow, and the drywall hangers will be right on their heels.
