Now that the trusses are finally in place, a layer of roof sheathing is being installed. We are using a radiant barrier sheathing, which is plywood with a layer of aluminum facing on one side. The sheathing is placed on the roof trusses, aluminum side down. This keeps the heat from the sun being transmitted through the roof to the attic area, and in winter, it keeps the heat from the house escaping through the roof. Once all the sheathing is in place, the roofer will lay down a waterproof barrier, and then the work on the interior can begin – first up, electrical, plumbing rough-in and HVAC!
